Alongside my work as a Celebrant, I am also a counsellor with my own private practice specialising in working with LGBTQ people.
I have a strong belief in equality, that everyone has the right to feel accepted exactly as they are. This is the place I approach my celebrant work from.
The seeds to becoming a Humanist Celebrant were planted after experiencing the Humanist Funeral service of my aunt.
The service was beautiful, peaceful, colourful, warm and reflected exactly the way my aunt had lived her life. It was unlike other any other ceremonies I had been to, and I felt thankful to the celebrant for giving us that experience.
I was motivated to give this experience to others, and I felt that my skills from my work as a counsellor and running a private practice would be a real asset to Celebrant work.
I have found a home in the Humanist Celebrant Network in Northern Ireland, and I’m proud to be a Humanist Wedding Celebrant.
Outside my working life, I am an allotment owner, painter, Cat Dad to Percy, and a Bow Tie enthusiast.
